Currently seeking Red Seal Truck & Transport Technicians or Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians for full-time permanent positions at our locally owned and operated commercial repair business.

Highly skilled apprentices with a desire to progress in their career are also welcome to apply.

Requirements:

  • Helpful, dedicated team player with a positive attitude
  • Care and attention to performing quality repairs in a safe and timely manner
  • Qualification as a Licensed Truck & Transport Technician or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.
  • Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVIP) Certification
  • Five years related experience and/or training
  • Computer skills and experience preferred
  • Valid Driver’s Licence (Airbrake Endorsement or Class 1 (to test drive truck & trailer) an asset)
  • Functions well with large volume and fast-paced work environment.

AUTOBODY PAINTER-COMMERCIAL TRANSPORT

Join a team of qualified, passionate professionals. We are seeking a paint technician for our new Commercial Vehicle Body Shop. All our technicians are supported by a group of enthusiastic parts advisors, a helpful front office admin team, substantial parts and supply inventory, an industrial sized well equipped shop.

The paint technician will assess and evaluate the exterior paint condition of various (primarily commercial) vehicles and vehicle components (hoods) and select appropriate corrective action or method of repair to ensure a seamless paint finish. Assisting to estimate repair times will also be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and removing layers of sub-coatings by using abrasives, solvents or chemicals.
  • Preparing surfaces using power and manual sanding equipment, and applying masking and sanding techniques.
  • Completing minor damage repair prior to masking, applying priming and top coating using spray guns.
  • Using an eye for detail and good colour sense to match complex colour formulations created by vehicle manufacturers.
  • Painting the damaged vehicle with appropriate paint colour as specified in the repair order.
  • Applying refinishing products in the correct sequence for proper adhesion and durability.
  • Keeps work area clean and tidy.

  • Journeyman Red Seal Licenced (Interprovincial) Automotive Painter (Automotive Refinishing Technician)
