Bill’s Heavy Duty is a locally owned, commercial vehicle repair business that has been serving the West Kootenay region for over 40 years. Founded in 1978 by Bill Arishenkoff, Bill’s Heavy Duty was in South Slocan at the Playmor Junction up until 2018. Over the years, the company has earned a reputation for integrity and professionalism. Current owner Richard Hernandez was hired by Bill in 1993 as a technician and has been working to build Bill’s Heavy Duty to what it is today ever since. Richard bought into the company in 2009 and in 2014 took over ownership and operations completely. Eva Hernandez joined Richard and their three sons to help operate and grow the company in 2017. December 2018, the company relocated to its current 30,000 square foot facility near the airport in Castlegar.
